Last weekend, Alex, Freya and I took a little trip to Loudonville, Ohio to camp and float down a river. The Clearfork Branch of the Mohican River, to be exact. But first, the campground sold "Fun Packs" that gave us go-cart rides, adventure golf, and a river trip. We couldn't do the golf because Freya wasn't allowed in and we weren't allowed to leave her at the campsite (which we really didn't want to do anyway). Alex wasn't too disappointed, though, since that left more time for driving go-karts.

Alex deep in concentration on his first drive.

And then posing as if he does this every day while he waits for his second drive.

His second drive ... no, he didn't hit that guy.

Later that night, Alex busied himself with creating gravel shoes,
which really do massage your feet when you walk in them.

That is, when he wasn't playing Fire Master.

The next morning and we were ready for the river.

Alex adapted quite well to my pulling him along behind the canoe.

But Freya was a different story ... she stayed at my feet for the first 20 minutes.

But she eventually got curious enough to check out what was happening.

Alex, after flipping the tube and swimming to shore.
He really was having more fun than it appears.

This is moments later, after he realized the flip got him used to the cold water.

Alex decided to row for a while, and Freya stuck close to him for the rest of the trip.

Alex and Freya waiting for the bus to take us back up the river ...

... to the go-carts again.

And again.
On Thursday, we're heading to Pennsylvania to visit Christina at her new place and then camp in Laurel Hill State Park. We'll post photos from that trip next week.
