I just returned from dinner after posting the first round of Sunday photos and was thoroughly embarassed to see that two good friends had emailed to let me know that the icon that befuddled me so was intended to indicate a diaper changing area. I should know these things, shouldn't I? So I suppose that figure is face up then, and not face down, right? That makes it seem like a far less uncomfortable position than I'd thought. (For the record, though, the baby being the same size as the adult added to my confusion.)
After the War Museum, I'd wanted to go to the Globe, but it was later than I'd planned, so I started walking toward the river. I remembered that Heidi had said that there was a lot of nice walking space along the Thames, so I headed up there and found myself on the Southbank, which must be a mecca for, yes, that's right: buskers!
The classic "I'll make myself look metallic and hold really still to see if anyone will give me money" attempt:

And this guy who rolled a crystal ball all over his hands and arms and shoulders and face -- it really was more impressive than these pictures make it appear:

A drummer:

And the most impressive of all, a sidewalk artist:

I dropped a pound in her basket, though I don't believe it was 10 weeks work ... I mean, we have a sidewalk art festival in Columbus and people do pieces this impressive in a weekend. But still, how could I walk by that and not give her some money?

The reggae band was the most popular of all (I took this photo from the Wibbly Wobbly, as my boat guide referred to the Jubilee footbridge):

More Southbank images to come in the next post ...
