Piccadilly Circus

Thursday 07/19/2007 7:09 PM (In the United Kingdom: Friday 07/20/2007 12:09 AM)

It's late and I'm tired. I spent most of the day in the library (Milne is doing just fine, and he asked me to tell all of you hulllo), but I did get out tonight to Piccadilly Circus in an attempt to fill some CD orders from Peter. I didn't find the CDs there, but I did get some photos out of the second floor of the Virgin Megastore:

Looking to the left ...

... and looking to the right. Looks a lot like Times Square in New York, but with older buildings, doesn't it? I was slightly disappointed by the lack of elephants, trapeze, bigtop, as you can see below:

No, I'm not drunk.  This is one of those lone-traveler-takes-her-own-picture shots. My left eye is even doing that unfortunate crossing thing eyes do when you look at something too closely. But just when I started to believe that these Brits are all a bunch of liars with their "Circus" business, I spotted this guy:

He's a clown, the only trace of circusness I found there ... and wouldn't you know, this is the one photo of the entire trip so far that turned out inexplicably blurred? In some ways, I like it even more because of that.

And this would be an alley off the "circus" ... that's right: just your regular ole' run-o-the-mill alley, like the ones in the USA, right? Geez.

Link of the Day: So THAT'S what they mean by circus
